As a theology student at ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳, you will experience a vibrant student and community campus. Along with opportunities to engage with faculty and staff, you will have opportunities to connect with ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳ alumni, undergraduate students and theology students from the wider Toronto School of Theology community. With significant cultural and religious diversity all around the cosmopolitan city of Toronto, there is no shortage of opportunities.
As a college with deep roots in the Anglican tradition, ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳ provides a comprehensive approach to spiritual and community life. The Holy Eucharist and Offices are celebrated daily from historic and contemporary Anglican liturgies in ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳’s magnificent ChapelÌý(view Chapel services). Advanced Graduate Degree students are invited to participate as fully as their studies permit.
Monday to Thursday, Chapel worship services includes: Morning Prayer and morning Holy Eucharist, and evening Eucharist, Community Eucharist followed by a Community Meal, Choral Evensong and Evening Prayer. Anglican MDiv students (and any other students who are interested) are welcome to lead these services (workshop training provided by the Dean of Divinity and ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳’s Chaplain).
²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳’s Faculty of Divinity and the also host a full calendar of social events and learning opportunities.
All students enrolled in the Faculty of Divinity form the “Divinity Class.” The Divinity Class meets regularly, elects its own officers, and exercises the functions of student government. The chief student officers are the Co-Heads of Divinity, who by virtue of that office shares in the government of ²Ê°ÔÍõÂÛ̳ and the Faculty of Divinity on many levels.
The Divinity Common Room (located near the Chapel) is the setting for much of the community life of the Faculty of Divinity. The Co-Heads of Divinity’s Office is located in the North Hall (north of Strachan Hall) – the space is available for bookings for theology student initiatives. Strachan Hall (main dining hall) and cafeteria (The Buttery) area also frequently used by students, faculty and staff for conversation, refreshment and gatherings.
